Letter to ArtistsHi Everyone! It’s time to start thinking about the ConClave 31 Art Show. This year’s convention will be October 6-8, 2006 at the Crown Plaza in Romulus, MI. If you are new to our convention, our attendance is about 700 (give or take a few fans). We usually show works including 3D, jewelry, cartoons, computer art, originals, prints, and what-have-you. We are continuing with; our "Mature Alley" is for original artwork depicting mature subject matter. This will be open during the same hours as the rest of the Art Show Friday and Saturday, and monitored to keep minors out. Due to requests of our younger audience we are adding a “Children’s Gallery” this year, high lighting work from younger artists. We accept mail-in artwork. We sell space by the piece, not by the panel or table. The fees are $.50 per piece for each piece with a minimum bid under $100.00, and $1.00 per piece with a minimum bid over $100.00 or NFS. Mail-in artists must include return postage with the artwork. The art mail-in address is:
ConClave Art Show C/o Timothy Murphy 4790 Washtenaw, Apt. #A1 Ann Arbor, MI 48108-1437
This is just a general overview; a detailed list of the rules is enclosed. Anyone interested in doing panels or demos please notify our programming department. They can be reached at programming@conclavesf.org. If you are chosen to do three or more panels you will receive free admission to ConClave. Please review the Art Show Rules. If you are interested in showing your work at ConClave this year, you can find forms on our web site or, you can send a self-addressed business-size envelope with two stamps on it and a note telling me about how many pieces you wish to enter and I will forward a control sheet and bid sheets. Thank you for your interest in ConClave. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Sincerely, Shelley Dougan |
