Art Show Rules
and Procedures
All
artwork submitted MUST have a Science Fiction, Fantasy, or
Anthropomorphic theme.
ConClave
reserves the right to refuse artwork on the basis of subject matter, quality, or
space limitations.
Models,
miniatures and pre-cast commercially available forms etc., must be custom
modified.
Limited
Edition Prints of 500 or less will be accepted in the Art Show.
Hanging
works do not need to be framed; however, all 2D artwork MUST be matted. All
artwork must be marked on the back with the artist's name and the name of the
piece.
ConClave
uses a steel commercial grid hanging system, and standard hotel tables for 3D
art. All art must be able to be presented in these venues. Any special display
fixtures are only acceptable at the discretion of the art show staff, hotel
management and the fire marshal. If you have any special hanging fixtures it is
best to get permission in advance.
As
space is limited and sold by the piece not the panel, the art show reserves the
right to rearrange pieces in order to consolidate space for other artists to
exhibit their work.
ConClave
will not be held responsible for artwork lost, stolen or damaged in transit or
at the show, and will not be responsible for artwork not picked up by closing
time of the show. This does not include mail-in art, which will be returned
according to the instructions given in the artist's registration.
ConClave
will have one voice auction on Saturday evening. Any items receiving 3 or more
bids on the bid sheets will be sent to the voice auction. Items receiving one or
two bids on the bid sheets will be sold to the highest written bidder.
All
sales will be by written or voice bid only. There will be no quick sales, Sunday
sales or after show sales. For those who are interested in a piece which has not
sold during the convention ConClave will be happy to put a potential buyer in
contact with the artist for them to work out any sale arrangement privately
unless the artist has requested that their contact information not be
revealed.
All
payments for pieces sold are by corporate check. ConClave reserves the right to
withhold monies previously owed to ConClave from any monies due to the artist.
Mail-in artists will be paid by corporate check, after the close of the show.
All payments will be sent by mail. Payments
will be mailed within 1 week of close of show.
No payments will be made on site.
There
is a $ .50 hanging fee for pieces with minimums of less than $100.00. The
hanging fee for pieces with minimums of $100.00 or more is $1.00. Not For Sale (NFS)
pieces will also pay a $1.00 hanging fee. This fee is waived for art to be displayed in the
Children’s Gallery. There
is no hanging fee for the print shop. All hanging fees are due at the time of
entry into the art show.
There
is a 10% commission on all sales.
All
payments for pieces sold will be made in mail by corporate check. ConClave
reserves the right to withhold monies previously owed to ConClave from any
monies due to the artist. All payments will be sent by mail. No payments
will be made on site.
The
artist must read, sign, and complete an Agreement Form before any works will be
displayed. The form must be on file during the show.
Print
Shop entries are not limited to 2D work. Entries must be individually priced and
labeled with the artist's name and the name of the piece etc.
