Art Show Rules and Procedures
All artwork submitted MUST have a Science Fiction, Fantasy, or Anthropomorphic theme.
ConClave reserves the right to refuse artwork on the basis of subject matter, quality, or space limitations.
Models, miniatures and pre-cast commercially available forms etc., must be custom modified.
Limited Edition Prints of 500 or less will be accepted in the Art Show.
Hanging works do not need to be framed; however, all 2D artwork MUST be matted. All artwork must be marked on the back with the artist's name and the name of the piece.
ConClave uses a steel commercial grid hanging system, and standard hotel tables for 3D art. All art must be able to be presented in these venues. Any special display fixtures are only acceptable at the discretion of the art show staff, hotel management and the fire marshal. If you have any special hanging fixtures it is best to get permission in advance.
As space is limited and sold by the piece not the panel, the art show reserves the right to rearrange pieces in order to consolidate space for other artists to exhibit their work.
ConClave will not be held responsible for artwork lost, stolen or damaged in transit or at the show, and will not be responsible for artwork not picked up by closing time of the show. This does not include mail-in art, which will be returned according to the instructions given in the artist's registration.
ConClave will have one voice auction on Saturday evening. Any items receiving 3 or more bids on the bid sheets will be sent to the voice auction. Items receiving one or two bids on the bid sheets will be sold to the highest written bidder.
All sales will be by written or voice bid only. There will be no quick sales, Sunday sales or after show sales. For those who are interested in a piece which has not sold during the convention ConClave will be happy to put a potential buyer in contact with the artist for them to work out any sale arrangement privately unless the artist has requested that their contact information not be revealed.
All payments for pieces sold are by corporate check. ConClave reserves the right to withhold monies previously owed to ConClave from any monies due to the artist. Mail-in artists will be paid by corporate check, after the close of the show. All payments will be sent by mail. Payments will be mailed within 1 week of close of show. No payments will be made on site.
There is a $ .50 hanging fee for pieces with minimums of less than $100.00. The hanging fee for pieces with minimums of $100.00 or more is $1.00. Not For Sale (NFS) pieces will also pay a $1.00 hanging fee. This fee is waived for art to be displayed in the Children’s Gallery. There is no hanging fee for the print shop. All hanging fees are due at the time of entry into the art show.
There is a 10% commission on all sales.
All payments for pieces sold will be made in mail by corporate check. ConClave reserves the right to withhold monies previously owed to ConClave from any monies due to the artist. All payments will be sent by mail. No payments will be made on site.
The artist must read, sign, and complete an Agreement Form before any works will be displayed. The form must be on file during the show.
Print Shop entries are not limited to 2D work. Entries must be individually priced and labeled with the artist's name and the name of the piece etc.
