Some hints for the up and
coming artists:
 | If
you have artwork that you would like to put up for sale, or display please
bring it to the convention when you arrive.
The early artist gets the prime hanging space. |
 | Here
are some hints on how to make sure your
work is at its best when it goes on display. |
 | Carry
your art in a protected case or carry bag. |
 | Your
work needs to be strong enough to be placed on the table or wire grid
without tearing. That is why artists make a ‘mat board’ sandwich around
their work. It protects the artwork and sometimes colorful mat boards help
sell a picture. You can make some ‘mat board’ by putting a few cardboard
layers together for the front and the back- with a really strong glue. Then
cut out the hole (or window) you’ll need to have in the front piece, so
that the art will show through. |
 | If
you put your name and the title of the piece of art on a piece of paper, and
attach it to the back of the mat board, your work will not get lost, and the
art show crew doesn't have to guess on the title. |
